Support from Orkney Rape Crisis
We provide free, confidential, information, support
and advocacy to anyone
(age 13 and over) affected by any form of sexual violence. We can support you whether you experienced sexual violence recently or a long
time ago, and whether or not you reported it to the police.
Please phone us on 01856 872298. You do not need to give your name. If we are not able to answer the phone, and you want to speak to someone urgently, you can ring the Rape Crisis Scotland Helpline for free on 08088 01 03 02. It is open every day from 6pm to midnight. You can also email: firstname.lastname@example.org The RCS Helpline is for anyone in Scotland (age 13 and over). Find out more about Rape Crisis Scotland here.
If you are under 13 please phone ChildLine free on 0800 1111 any time, day or night. You can also phone Orkney social work on 01856 873535 (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) or 01856 888000 (at any other time).
Our service is confidential. That means that we will not tell anyone you have contacted us, without your agreement, unless you or someone else is at serious risk of harm. We will explain more about this when you contact us.
We understand that it can be difficult to be anonymous in Orkney. If you want to meet us, we can do this at a place or time which is safe for you and protects your privacy.
We are part of Rape Crisis Scotland and the network of rape crisis centres across Scotland. There are centres in all the main cities. We can arrange for you to get support from another centre if you prefer to speak to someone outwith Orkney.
If you are a friend, partner or relative of someone affected by sexual violence you can be a good support to them. Please phone us if there is anything you would like to talk over with us.
We work with staff in other agencies. If you come into contact with survivors of sexual violence in the course of your work, we can give you advice and support. We also accept referrals.
